I`m a American citizen resided in Iraq because of the bad situation here i can`t reach the U.S embassy here in Baghdad can i renew my expired passport from Syria or Jordan? of course i`ll not be able to get back to America with it Right or can i?

Call the US Embassy in Iraq. Doesn't that seem more sensible than asking on Yahoo!?

you may go back to the US as soon as you have your passport in hands and plance ticket,if you cannot leave from Iraq? then leave from the closet country.
and yes if you cannot get to the embassy in Iraq, you may apply in Syria

To renew a full validity U.S. passport that was when you were at least 16 years old, you must present:
A completed and signed passport application DS-82;
Your most recent passport;
Two recent identical color photographs (see Photographic Requirements);
If applicable, evidence of change of name. If your name has changed through marriage or by a court order since your last passport, submit the original or a certified copy of the relevant documents.
An application fee of $67, payable in U.S. dollars, cash only.
Once your application is approved by the U.S. consular officer, it will be forwarded to the U.S. National Passport Center for issuance of a 10-year, photo-digitized passport. Allow up to one month for passport processing.

Yes. Just show your passport to them and make sure you make plenty of copies. Tell them you are a Christian and things will be easy for you. Never tell them you are a Muslim. |
