Normally, a permanent resident needs to live in Canada for about 3 years before being eligible to apply for citizenship. When you mean throw away, does it mean she plans to give you full custody of the baby when she (divorces or separates or leaves) you?
I guess it is not conducive to live with a person who does not want to continue a relationship with you. Make sure that you have legal documents before parting ways, especially regarding to child custody. |

No, you can't get citizenship through birth of a child only vice versa via derivative citizenship laws. You can apply on your own accord |

What is her current visa status? I don't think having a baby legalizes anything. Seven years legal residence in Canada would ordinarily qualify one to apply for citizenship. |
