Hi, i am wondering if my mom, my brother and I can obtain italian citizenship (passport) in New York even though we have the colombian and American citizenship, this is since my mom got married with an italian-american here in NYC?
How long would it take to get the citizenship?
What are the benefits?

If your mom's new husband has double citizenship (US and Italian) she will be eligible to apply for Italian citizenship after three years of marriage. The process could take one to three years to complete, and if by the time she gets her new citizenship your age is still below 18, then you'll become an Italian citizen too. |

Italian citizenship is acquired by descendants, family ,and by marriage only if you are in Italy, not in the US ,
even tough your mother married an Italian citizen, unless you are minors? you would not be able to get Italian citizenship,and not in the US. |
