Can you get permanent residency through marriage?
I know it takes 3 years to obtain full citizenship through marriage into the US but when you marry what legal rights are granted to you? If you marry a US citizen and you're an EU citizen, etc will the EU citizen become a permanent resident, same as if they had a Green Card?

No legal rights are granted to you just for getting married. You still have to apply to immigration The foreign spouse first gets a temporary green card and in a couple of years they check if the marriage is still going and then they will get a more permanent one. |

To enter the US through marriage, the US citizen partner has to apply for a K1 or a K3 visa depending on where they got married. It can take 3 to 8 months to come through. It is best if they see an immigrations consultant with K1 and K3 experience. |
