I am a Canadian citizen living in Boston with an F-1 student visa. I need to get an Indian 6 month tourist visa and want to know the best way.

Since you have established significant ties to the US via your student visa, you are eligible to apply for an Indian visa at the nearest Indian foreign mission in the US (in addition to the embassy in Washington DC, there are consulates in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Houston).
