well, i lived in the uk for 7 years as a student, and then 2 years as a student in ireland. however, the last time i was in ireland, i had broken a relationship with my boyfriend, and became ill, love sick. couldn't get out of bed, lost the will to live etc, and overstayed there for 6 months. i was really sick, and didn't really care if i will live or die. then i finally decided to go back home, but at the border at the Heathrow, the custom officer realised i overstayed, asked me why i said, didn't feel too well, and then he put me into the computer, saying i will have much harder time next time around if i wanted to come to ireland or uk again. it has been 2 years now, and i have finally gotten better after the end of the relationship. i would like to come to london as a turist of course, and to see some of my good friends there. i am not sureif they will let me thourgh the border, and how long this thing in the computer is for?
thanks, if u have an idea how can i go london again. i have croatian passport. (unfortunatelly to be born in that country).

It will stay in the computer a long time and maybe forever. You need to apply for visa again so you might as well call and talk to them about it.
Now overstay is usually a serious matter but I think if you ask for an appointment or interview and talk about the situation to explain the reason for your overstay (and call it "significant depression" not "lovesick" because that's a medical condition andt a "valid" explanation) there's a good chance that they will issue you a visa, especially if you establish that you have substantial ties at home.

You would probably want to contact the English embassy in your own country first. They will advise you of your status for being allowed to visit. Hope everything goes ok for you! |

Fly into Ireland. They will have no record of you on the computers there and as a passport holder of a member state you will have no problems entering the country. When you are ready to go to England you can get the ferry over and even if they do check passports you will have an EU state one and will pass freely through....but they never do check them... |

Call the British Consulate about this. However, I doubt you will be allowed in again because there is a fear that you might just stay here. |
