Demonstrate ties to home country...?

im applying for a US student visa.. my husband is a korean and im a filipina and we're staying here in the Philippines as of now. we were planning to transfer to korea after this semester(im taking up law) and since we were still here, i suppose we could apply for F1 and F2 visa here in the Philippines. My question is, which country should we demontrate the so called 'TIE' in which we intend to return to after my studies...korea or philippines? thanks.

You don't really get to pick and choose - you are the F-1; you need to demonstrate your ties to the country in which you are applying for a visa - the Philippines.
"Every alien shall be presumed to be an immigrant until he establishes to the satisfaction of the officer, at the time of the application for a visa... that he is entitled to nonimmigrant status..." |

Are you going to be the F-1 or is he? Since you'll be doing your interview in the Philippines, you'll need to show ties to there. Since you're married, you'll have to choose your country of residence together and show ties to that country. If you don't own a house, try finding other ties to home like family, cars, banking accounts, a job offer, etc. |

Lot depends on which country you have more property in. For example, if you own a house, that is enough incentive to return after school.
As an aside, I feel sorry for you, because the US embassy in Manila is a real hellhole where they treat even US citizens as dirt. |

i thinkg historically, more korean students in the US go back to thier home country than filipino students going back to their home county. but since you've mentioned that you are a filipina, i assume you have more years living and more real estate properties in the philippines than in korea. other than you husband, im assuming all your immediate relatives are in the philippines. so these factors might have more weight in determining your base home county |
