Hi.. I am currently studying MS in US university. I have permanent resident visa through diversity lottery program. I am here since 2006 october. If I marry in my country then how can I bring my wife as dependent. What documents do I need to submit to the embassy? Its almost more than a year to become a US citizen. But I want to bring before all this citizenship processes. How that possible?

As a green card holder (permanent resident) you are entitled to petition for immigration for your wife. You cannot take her to the US as a dependent the way that foreign students with nonimmigrant student visas do.

As a PR, you cannot bring your wife to the US outright. The petition process for that is lengthy. Even after you become a US citizen, it will take about 14-18 months to get your wife into the US. |

You can file for a wife as a Permanent resident ... the visa will take 4 years
or you can wait until you have citizenship then the wait is just the processing time
She cannot stay in the US to wait ... |
