Did you know that BVM revealed that a teen who died in 1917 will be in Purgatory until the end of the world?

Our Lady of Fatima revealed in 1917 that a teenage Catholic girl in Portugal (Lucia's friend) will be in Purgatory until the second judgment --i.e. the end of the world!

That scares me so much, b/c I can't imagine being burnt for almost a hundred years. Hopefully the world comes to an end soon, to let those poor souls out of Purgatory and into heaven.

What are your thoughts? If you're Protestant, I don't even want to hear about your disbelief in Purgatory. Offer some new insight.

To answer your question: purgatory was a place invented by the church fathers. It is supposed to be a place your spirit goes to WAIT until you can go to heaven or hell. It is not hot or cold, and who cares if you don't have a body?
If it is spiritual torment, why torment you, BEFORE you are found GUILTY?
Why in the world would you wish for the world to come to an end, when you do not understand your own religion's teachings?
Anybody who believes in purgatory also buys that all priests are nice men.
And that the Catholic church is a real spiritual gift and not just a big corrupt government of frustrated weirdos.
My advice? Enjoy your life, help people, try to live cleanly and honestly, and love your family and friends. Pray to whatever saint you want for help. Pray and say the rosary to comfort yourself. I believe if there were a god, she would want her family to be happy and love each other, and not scared and hoping for death..
I am just starting college again after a 40-year hiatus, so I fervently hope the world doesn't end until I graduate. I want to use it to help people better.

Given the question that you asked on cheating on college financial aid, maybe you better give your alleged "faith" a re-look. You're morally bankrupt as it is, so why would you even care?? You're well along the pathway to Hell, so Purgatory should be the LEAST of your worries!

Correct me if I"m wrong but if your in Purgatory that is neither heaven or hell so technically your not being burnt.

I can't really offer any thoughts, cause I don't realy know what purgatory is, or why a person would end up there. I thought it was just a place of nothing-ness between heaven and hell, so no burning... that would be hell to me? And I don't know what BVM is. Or Lady of Fatima.... or Lucia's friend.
