There is no difference between a work visa and a work permit - two different sets of wording for the same thing.
Contact the British Embassy or High Commission for the country you are now in and they will be able to advise you - the rules are different depending upon where you are and with something this momentous you wouldn't want to get it wrong. |

i would rather suggest you go for a work permit if you have the skills like work experience and little cash. i happen to be a dependant of my dad who has a work permit but of a higher status called highky skilled migrant program. it covers we the children and we dont need a student visa to school in the u.k..
it is first given for a year and then renewed for three years.so, after three years, seven years and so a citizen.....cheers |

The work visa is the type of visa you get when coming into the country just for work as opposed to for a visit or to get married.
If you hold a work visa you are allowed to work and it is therefore your work permit.
Go to the British Embassy wherever you live and apply there. |

If you want to work in the UK, you need to fill some forms and send them of to the home office.
The best thing to do look up the home office web site you will get all the details there or help. |

Work permit is the authorization that the government grants for you to work legally (in this case, the UK). Once you have a work permit, you can apply for the work visa. A Visa is needed to enter a sovereign country, and there are different types of visas depending on your purpose, e.g., tourist, work student visa, etc. |

you did not say if you live outside the ec union.
if u live out side the union then i beleive that you need to apply for a visa for entry to the uk from the country that you live in.
apply to the british embassy of that country.
or logonto the british embassy website in your country. |
