Do Americans need visas to stay and WORK in Germany for more than 3 months?

I already posted a question similar but I didn't mention the WORK part. Does it make a difference if I'm working and staying there longer than 3 months?? Anyone know? Thanks

There is something special about USA citizens, you can find more information in the following link, however I would sugest to call a German Consulate near to you, sometimes the german law is not so easy to understand.
