My departure is on 10/6 and my return on 10/29....
my passport expires 11/3/2006...
can someone give me a good answer?

You may travel back to the US with this passport. We have an automatic six-month extension treaty with Greece. They will let you out, and the US will let you back in.
In fact, US immigration officers will allow you back into the country if your passport is actually expired - it's not their favorite thing to do, but they do it.
Or, if you like, as another person suggested, you can apply for a replacement as soon as you arrive in Athens, and it will be here before you leave to return to the US. |

The general rule is to never travel with a passport that expires less than six months from your return date. It's not too expensive, and quite easy to get renewed, and trust me, you don't want to be in a foriegn country with an expired passport. What if your flight is delayed. What if you become ill, and can't travel back when you planned? It's not worth the risk. |

If you plan on extending your stay, yes. If you plan to be going on another trip soon, yes. If no other trips are planned, no. |

Why did you procrastinate? Most Airlines and Countries won't admit you when your passport ids on the verge of expiration. The rule is the passport must be 1-6 months from expiration depending on where you travel |

you can go to the American embassy consulate in Athens they will venue it for you turnround time is about 8 working days if you really need it or do it upon your return just did mine in china |

check into it ... im pretty sure you have to have a passport that does not expire for 6 months or somthing to be allowed entrance into most countries.... the airline would know i think ... |
