Do I need a visa to Canada?

I will be studying as an exchange student in Canada, I'm a US citizen and I would like to get a job in Canada while I'm living there (6 or 8 mo.), Do I have to get a visa and what permit do I need to get a job?

why on earth would you want to go to canada!! canada is like "junior america", americas weak sister if you will. do yourself a favor and go to europe if you want to study abroad!
