i have a passport from outside the EU and the british passport form is asking me if i've had or been included on any passport before, british or otherwise, so the answer is yes. then it says i must send them all uncancelled passports with the application. does this include my foreign passport? and also is the passport that i was included on before (my mother's british passport) count as uncancelled (meaning i'd have to send them that as well)?

I work for IPS uk, and when applying for your first British passport you have to forward all uncancelled passports (including the passport which you arrived in the uk on) into the office along with the application. You will also have to write that passport number into sec.3 of the application form too.
If your mothers passport has been cancelled then you will not need to write that passport number on the form. If it hasn't, write the number in, but there's no need to forward that passport as you are now an adult and your mother's passport doesn't determine the outcome of your application.

I think the best answer is that you should call and ask. I doubt they want your foreign passport, but I'll guess about the included passport -- is it still valid? If not they may want to cancel it anyway, if it is valid they would probably want to remove you from it so you have only one passport. |
