Does Anyone work for the the Govt? Urgt Passport question.?

I had a son in the Philippines in Feb, my wife and I are both Americans.

Problem is we need to leave in the beginnig of May and it seems that the US Embassy cant issue a passport to our new baby for another 4 weeks or so.

What are my options? I have read something aobut a "limited passport" for emergencies situations. Ours isnt.

Are you in the Philippines now? I presume so...sounds odd that it takes the embassy there so long to issue a passport..they can usually do it in a few days. Only thing I can think of is for you to go talk to them and explain your problem.

My brother in law just got a limited passport for his new baby due to a death in the family, it took 3 days they paid a little extra for it.

How about putting the baby on the Mother's passport?

I don't know if this is still an option today - but it was years ago.
