Nigeria=scam; they've been scaming for years. They scammed through the mail, and when the internet came along, they started offering everybody with something to sell on the internet the offer of purchasing their item with a FAKE cashier's check, and asking for a percentage refunded. By the time the fake cashier's check gets kicked back by the bank, it's too late. peiple think they are as good as cash. Countless people have been scammed, but I've read that those ripped off are often too embaassed to report it. I got a fake check from them for copier toner, it was $37000, but I knew better (because they used to send letters to my family business with similar offers) and waited for the check to bounce before shipping anything.
The funny thing is, this was in 2001, i think, and i told my banker that i figured it was a scam and he looked at me sideways. Even bankers don't know about this, so I guess plenty of people are still being ripped off by Nigerians (Now often from parts of Europe, I've heard, including the UK, and Sweden).

Sure..daily, I get emails from someone in Nigeria asking me for my bank account numbers so they can deposit millions of dollars in illegal money.. I always give them my numbers, and I am very sure they will deposit all the money one day..aren't you? |
