I was born in USA when my dad was doing his Phd in WA.We left USA when I was 1 year-old. Now I am 33 but I am having hearing problem . I almost don't hear. I start to hate life because of this problem. People dislike me. I am isolated and lonely. To fix my problem I need an operation which cost 50000 $. It is too costly. If I apply for an American passport, will it help me in any way. I hear that USA is a materialistic society where no body cares for anybody. I am afraid to go there and just get lost.

Having money will help you get an operation. A passport will not pay for hospital bills. Sad to say but true. If you can afford to pay $50,000 for an operation, go to Thailand, India, Philippines, Singapore and get your operation there. You will have money left over to have a vacation after your surgery. I am sure it will turn out just fine for you. Good luck! |

America is more expensive than India in medical treatments. You will find lots of Americans coming to India for treatment.
We have in India a lot of excellent hospitals doing Octoplasty (ear operation). You can check on KKR Chennai, KEM, Mumbai, Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Wokhardts in Mumbai etc. If you start searching, you will find the right hospital in India where operation can be done at much lower prices.

Americans are traveling to India, Thailand, Singapore, Domincan Republic, etc, to get medical care because they cannot afford it in the US! Whatever medical care you require, you can obtain it far more cheaply in a substantial number of countries.
Getting a US passport is not going to help you obtain medical care. And there is no way it will help you get money for such surgery. Welfare & Medicaid, which you are not be eligible for anyway, does not pay for such surgery. With the budget cutbacks, they probably wouldn't get you a cheap hearing aid, even if you could qualify. If you're thinking Medicaid is an option, forget it. It is not. |
