Does new passport mean new visa?

i have been issued a new indian passport. i have a valid tier 1 UK visa in my old passport, does it still hold good or do i have to resend my new passport to UK embassy for restamping?
is there any charge involved in restamping in the new passport and do i have to resend all my documentation again to the british embassy, just like applying for a new visa?
please help...thank you very much for the help guys and girls

The visa is still valid even if the passport is expired. Just attach your old passport with the visa to the new one when you want to travel to UK.

Staple both passport together. There is no need to transfer UK Tier-1 Visa from Old Passport to the New Passport. Tiier-1 Visa will remain valid in your passport up to its expiry date and will be acceptable to immigration officer at any UK port of entry.

The visa is valid for use until the expiration date listed. So bring the old passport with you when you travel to the UK. Any other country, just bring the new (passport) one.

I stay in Bahrain and I have obtained single entry visa from Canadian Embassy, Abu Dhabi last month (valid till Nov, 2011). Subsequently I have received a new passport (as old passport leaflets got filled up). I am planning to travel to Canada after 1 week with both old and new passport. The old passport carries the Canadian Visa. Do I need to get the visa restamped on the new passport, or would the immigration authorities accept the visa on the old passport.
