It almost screams to be bombed on a weekly basis if American soldier ever left, which we know they won't.
600 million $ of wasted tax payers money in my opinion.

Well, why not, If THE IRAQIS can built palaces, and now since USA is there for a Long haul, it needs space for its activities--- in the Middle East.

The irony is that the new US embassy in Baghdad is the only US funded project in Iraq that will be completed. Bush & Co. have flushed billions down the proverbial toilet for projects to 'improve' Iraq and none of them have been completed to spec. (or within budget) yet.
Does Baghdad still have regular (eg: 24/7) water and electricty service? no.
Efforts to provide the above been successful? No, despite millions of US taxpayer dollars spent on it.

This has always been a point of contention. The US should make it clear why it needs 3,000 employees there, otherwise it will remain a source of suspicion by Iraq´s neighbors. |
