I am seeking for an f2 visa but my spouse's last name is not included in my passport, will that bring problems with the visa officials? Do I need to add his name to my names in my passport which means having to drop one of my names, either maiden name or surname?

You need to apply in whatever your current legal name is. If you recently married and took the name of your husband, get a new passport listing your current name first before applying. Otherwise you may run into problems when asked to provide additional paperwork.
Other than that there is no specific regulation that requires you to apply in your husbands name. In many countries women do not change their name upon marriage. |
