Filipino Passport?

My husband and I were both born in the Philippines but automatically US citizen at birth through our American Citizens fathers. I would like to know if there is a way for us to apply for Filipino passport, along with my 18th year old daughter who is a US born.

If you were born in the Philippines, then your birth certificates were issued there as well. By 'jus solis', (that a person's citizenship is determined by his or her place of birth) you and your husband ARE Filipinos by birth. I will also assume that both your mothers are Filipino citizens too. It will be a matter of reacquiring your citizenship, if that is what you want. (you don't need to) Here is the form you will need. So with your daughter. Upon approval of this application, you can now apply for a Philippine passport.

Philippines uses "jus sanguinis" (right of blood) as the legal principle that, at birth, an individual acquires the nationality of his/her natural parent/s. So the question becomes what nationality are your mothers? If your mothers are Filipinos then apply (there is a bit of paperwork because of changes in the law) it should be possible. Your daughter would be determined by when you "officially" became Filipino! You might want to talk to an attorney who specializes in this(especially for the sake of your daughter).
