i will like to know are politicians in u.s also have criminal charges on them as we are having here in india,if yes how serious,and how many of them(in percentage),here in india we have almost 80 percent of politician having criminal charges,honest answers please

I know someone will laugh at me for this but the fact is in the USA most politicians are quite careful to obey the laws, and while we do see more cases than anyone would like it's really quite rare.
Most of the people who go into politics in America do not do so for money because they can usually make much more by working in business. While no government is free of people who do "favors" for others, our system strives to limit that kind of abuse as well.
And in our system when a politician does have serious charges lodged against him or her, they usually resign or are removed from office pretty quickly. |

The "Rule" is that a politician has to have a clean record other than minor offenses such as parking tickets, etc.
However, the government is corrupt and it's not about WHAT you know it's about WHO you know. I am sure it would be easy for a US politician to have a record. It would probably be cleared before anyone would know though.

Perhaps some for minor related issues. Politicians here often step down if controversies are substantial enough to acquire intense media scrutiny for criminal acts.
