My bf left for a bussiness trip (already granted H1b) and went to India for stamping. And of course they stopped him, and his lawyers here got involved and told him it was a security check, its been a month does anyone know how long this could take?

Hopefully, it is permanent. We don't need any more Indian's with bogus educational credentials in the US. The H1-B is the biggest fraud in America and needs to end today. The fact is that the only skill possessed by these workers is that they are cheap scab labor. |

I don't think they can stop him from coming back for much longer-- there are things written into those documents to protect both parties. What you should do is ask his lawyer what's going on. Also, have the lawyer write to or call the consulate-- sometimes stuff gets lost on their desks.
Next time he goes abroad make sure he checks with the group who issued him his H1-B to make sure everything is valid before he travels. It wouldn't hurt to carry other things like proof of employment as well. |

of course they can stop him, they must have had a reason for , even if it is just routine check, employment verification, or other issues,
if they were not in power to do so? they would not have done this,
as far as the time span? no idea, it all depends what they are looking for,
theses procedures take a while. |
