Hi, Does anybody know if a south african passport is still valid after a fake visa has been put into it??

I got conned into purchasing a fake visa while in the UK, I have since informed the authorities about this and they have givin me 6 months to leave and they have conferscated my passport which will be given back to me at the airport on the day that I leave. Its a fake piece of paper(visa) stuck in one of the pages of my original passport. They have told me that its fine to use it to go back home with because they will just put a line across where the visa is. I want to travel as soon as I get back home and wonder if I can still use my passport?

The passport is still valid. However, it might be in your best intrestest to get a new, "clean" passport for future travel, as the fraudulent visa will attract unwanted attention from other authorities.

any passport that is in any manner or shape altered it becomes invalid for future presentation you will need to get a new one

This is common sense, of course you can still use it not if you are going back to the same place, which I doubt it. When you travel they won't care about that visa, I don't think they will ever bother anyways.
