How can I go about getting an Italian passport?

I live in Scotland and I want an Italian passport. My grandfather was Italian but i'm not sure who has his birth certificate. If I happen to find the birth certificate where would I go to apply for my Italian Passport?

You did not state what your current nationality is. If you are Scottish/British, then you have the right to move to Italy for employment or studying freely under the Four Freedoms of the EU.

However, the process is not that simple with just your nonno's birth certificate. You need marriage/death/ birth certificates for yourself, your parents, and your nonni. An interview application is also required. Contact the Italian embassy in London.

If you find his birth certificate and have proof of his Italian citizenship, then contact the nearest Italian general consulate or embassy
