How can a US citizen (while in another country) enter a US Embassy or Consulate?

All you would have to do is approach the embassy/consulate and as you get stopped at the gate be ready to show proof of your citizenship (preferably your passport) and they'll let you in.

if you want to be seen immediately, you need to show your US passport (basically, show proof of US citizenship) and they can help you with your problem.

also, embassies frequently host parties for americas living abroad. you can get into these parties by showing your proof of US citizenship.
