What sort of visa? A person with a French passport doesn't really need a visa to be a tourist in the US, they can come in for up to 90 days under Visa Waiver. If you have something else in mind, let us know.

You don't need a visa unless you want to work or study in the US.

If you do, your employer or university will advise you.
