How can i acquire a US visa and where can i apply for it here in canada?

Hey, I'm going to give you some specifics and I hope it helps. Are you employers going to be staying in the US and want you to work there permanently? If so, then there is not much you can do the US does not allow this. BUT, if your employers are only going to visit, then you are absolutely allowed to accompany them and be a nanny. Sometimes even if your employer is going to work there themselves they can still bring their domestic help along even if it is for a few years!

Your employers should already have their visas before you apply. You will need to apply for a B-1 visa [this is a domestic servant visa for things like butlers or nannies.] You go through the regular visa application process but need to have an additional contract written up before the visa can be issued. The US has a rule that if you are going to be working in the country for a short period of time, your employer must pay you AT LEAST the minimum wage for that state. A contract must be written and signed by both you and your employer that agrees to this. You then apply for the visa and bring your employer to your interview. The officer will interview you and review your case and let you know whether or not the visa can be issued. With B-1 visas it can really depend so I couldn't tell you either way whether you'll get it or not.

The US isn't giving out visas for unskilled labor at this time. Visas are only available, in limited quantities, for professionals (college educated) with occupational skills like nursing, physical therapy, math and science teachers, etc...

Depends on the town in Canada. Go to the nearest US Consulate or the Embassey in Ottowa. Consulates are in different towns away from the embassey.

I'm pretty sure Yak Rider is right - it'd be very difficult to get a working visa for a nanny, but maybe your employers can sponsor you for a visa (there are different types)?
