I have applied for passport in jan-2008. i haven't received the
passport yet. My file Number is MASW74028308. I have called to
Passport office chennai but it asks me to enter extension ion number and i don't know that. I have mailed to passport office but i did not get any response.
In a couple of months i am going to abroad for my higher studies. Hence i need a passport. How can i get this passport within a month? Or can i apply for another passport?

You cannot apply for another passport.
You personally meet the passport officer and request for the passport by telling the reason. Also provide the admission details if u have. Within 2 days u can get the passport.
I have received in such a way in Trichy passport Office around 5 years back |

you will need to go to the passport office personally and deny the prior application for passport then re-apply for new one based on the fact that it may be lost or stolen, if the passport was issued and lost in mail there is no problem in receiving a new one. checking records takes some time but there are ways to speed the process up, it is your right to obtain for educational purposes make an appointment with your embassy or politician if necessary. |
