You will never get a chance to get US citizenship without living in the States (U.S. land that is). One of the basic requirement in obtaining citizenship is domicile or residency, the required year of residency is 5 years - on the first 30 months, you should at least have lived in the land without absent (meaning 30 months without going out of the country). So, by residency requirement alone, your idea already failed. Better yet, check the U.S. citizenship agency office at www.uscis.gov for complete details.

Only by acquiring it from a US citizen parent. Otherwise, immigrants must live in the US to become citizens.
