Borders were thought of when man decided that to conquer a people meant control and power. Thus the concept of borders is pre-Biblical history.

europeans make their people carry identity cards.. paper dog tags. and it is one huge place...

Borders go back to Egypt for countries and before that for tribal boundaries. Travel papers go back as far Europe was probably source. you needed kings permission to leave and it was in writing other countries did not just want anyone to come in and take jobs aways. |
