How do I renew my spanish passport in the usa that is expiring soon?

All you have to do is find the nearest Spanish Embassy to wehre you are and talk to them. They will give you some forms to fill out that you can mail overseas and then Spain will send you your new passport. Because your passport is valid and you are just renewing it (not filling out for a new one all togehter) all you will have to do is take a new picture and mail it in with your documentation. This happened to a friend of mind from the USA studying in Spain that need to renew her passport and this is all she needed to do. Also I think that if anything, it would be more complicated to renew a USA passport overseas than vice versa.

EDIT: Also, if you are on the east coast already or near New York, I would highly recommend (if you can) just making the trip down to the Washington DC embassy because the one in New York is absolutely nuts. The people there are a little bit more rude and much more busy. The only thing is, the one in DC is only open Mondays-Thursdays from 9am-1pm.

You need to apply for the passport renewal at the Spanish Consulate General which covers your state of residence. The Embassy in Washington does not deal with consular issues, therefore a Spanish Consulate General can be found in Washington as well. You must apply for the renewal in person since the new e-passports contain the fingerprints of the bearer which must be taken. Honorary Consulates cannot provide passport services any longer, except for minors below 12 years who are exempt from the fingerprint requirement.

A Spanish teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.
- "House" for instance, is feminine: "la casa". "Pencil", however, is masculine: "el lÃ¡piz."
A student asked what gender is 'computer? Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups, male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether "computer" should be a masculine or a feminine noun. Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.
The men's group decided that "computer" should definitely be of the feminine gender ("la computadora"), because:

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and

The spanish consulate in Washington. You can download the forms on line, print them out and mail your papers. It takes about 28 days. You need to have an up to date passport as part of your visa agreement, so best click on that site next and get it done.

If you're in or near a large city, look for a Spanish consulate. If there's no consulate near you, call the Spanish Embassy in Washington.

I am amazed that you have not check with the Spain Embassy in the USA. Just google it and get the contact information and call them. I could tell you, but I'm tired of doing things for people like you. Who else can issue a passport for Spain, think before asking a question like this.
