How do i file for a visa for my parents?

Im a citizen and i want my parents to come here, how do i do that ? how long does it take? please help....is the forms free?

You would need to file separate I-130 immigrant petitions for them through the USCIS. the forms are free, but it does cost money to file, $355 each. Plus, they would eventually have to pay another $400 each for the immigrant visa interview. It takes a year or more for USCIS to simply process and approve the petitions, and then they go to the National Visa Center for more processing, and from there on to the US embassy in your home country. You would also have to file an I-864 affidavit of support to show you can support your parents at at least 125% of the poverty guidelines or about $22,000 per year at present, assuming you aren't married and have kids of your own which would also have to be taken into consideration.

If it is a non-immigrant visa and you just want your parents to come for a visit they have to apply for the tourist visa on their own merit.You can send them an invitation to show to the US Embassy during the interview but it will not be the deciding factor for them to be granted a tourist visa.
