How easy/ difficult for a British citizen to buy a business in USA and settle down?

Aside from the legal aspect ie Attorneys and the like...realtively easy especially in Florida at the moment.

Find the business you want to buy and let the attorney do the work. You'll need to get visas and the like from the US embassy and they check your background and for any criminal convictions (serious ones).

I think you still have to leave the USA for one day in each year and return. Your visas have to be renewed every couple of years or so but as you will have a business (preferably employing US citizens) the renewal is streamlined and done via postal application.

A friend of mine has just done this and the whole process took nine months and was relatively painless!

At least I have a place to stay when I go over :)
