im Filipino and my fiance is an american. he visit me here in the Philippines last March 2, 2007, stayed here 18 days. and he visit me again here last May16, 2007 and stayed another 18 days. he is paying somebody to take care of our visa. it started second week of April this year. it will be three months since we forward my visa application, and i still have not heard anything from them. is it normal? or is there something wrong? i need someone to enlightened me...

When you write that your fiance is paying somebody to take care of your visa, I hope that you mean that he has paid a US attorney to help with the I-129F fiance petition, NOT that he is paying someone to supposedly help you get a tourist visa.
That would be money thrown away.
If your fiance or his lawyer filed the I-129F with USCIS in April, you can figure that it will take until about the end of the year before the petition is approved and sent to Manila, and your visa interview will be scheduled. In the meantime, there are some documents you can get started on that will be needed for the interview. |

6 months to a year.
Took me 6 months to get my ex from PI to the USA with a fiancee visa.
Word to the wise, don't listen to American women, they will help you ruin your marriage. Every man I have ever known who has married a foreigner, especially from PI ended in divorce.

nobody can tell you the time that you will wait to receive a visa from the US, it can be from 3 months or much longer ......
and yes it is normal , alot of items will have to be checked out by the US ,in order to release a visa to you .
i cannot tell you more , for i do not know . |
