How long does it take to renew a British passport?

going away in May, do you know how long it takes to renew a passport that is out of date? Thanks

An adult British passport costs Â£72 to renew & takes about 3 weeks to arrive. You can pay extra for a faster service at the Post Office - 1 week costs Â£97. You can also get it done in 1 day for Â£114, but you need to make an appointment.
