What do US citizens think about this? Why are they building them here for? What are these consulates used for?Are they for illegals? Are any states planning on building more of them? Does anyone here anything about these places? Are they a good thing or bad thing to have in the USA?What do people here think about these kinds of places?

They simply serve as representation of the Mexican government. There is nothing illegal or suspicious about them.
They allow Mexicans living in the US to renew their Mexican passports, pay their Mexican taxes, give them advice and assistance on living in America. If a Mexican is arrested, the Mexican Consul will try to ensure they get a fair trial. They facilitate trade, business and good relations between Mexico and the US. They act as a go-between between top US officials and top Mexican officials.
The US has Consulates in nearly every country in the world, with some countries having numerous US consulates. Similarly, most countries have an Embassy or Consulate in Washington DC.
It certainly is a good thing: it means that Mexico is willing to stand up and acknowledge that they should take care of their citizens by giving them help and assistance when abroad. |

no, they are not for illegals, Mexico is a country that has representation in the US,
i do not see why would mexicans not have an embassy in the US?
all mexicans are not illegal ,
most countries have an embassy in the US,
the consulates are here for consular services, which are needed for papers, passports, birth certificates etc.
i think the US should have diplomatic relations with Mexico, |
