I have been arrested twice in the past for bouncing checks (early twenties). Should I not even try?

Not necessary.
Top secret clearance is difficult to get. However, they will assess each case individually. For instance, previous DUI records can still get the clearance.
First of all (and for real), a arrest record is different from conviction, which you are not guilty when you are arrested, but you are guilty when you are convicted.
TS usually assess your risk in exposing government information. If they don't think you have risk, then they will grant your TS clearance. |

Very strict. Arrested for bouncing checks twice? Don't bother ever applying for any government position, federal, state, county or local. Forget careers in politics, law, government, financial/banking, medical; no real estate license, brokerage or other financial/insurance/securities licensing, etc. |
