How to extend my VISA when traveling to China.?

I will be traveling to China soon, and I got a 60 days tourist visa, I think I will need more than 60 days, so what can I do to extend my visa. Do I go to local embassy in China, or it can be done here, also what is the fee?

Since July of this year, you cannot extend your visa inside of China. you would have to go to Hong Kong, and Hong Kong presently does not have same day visa service. (3 days min)

This policy is widely expected to loosen, (In October sometime) so you may luck out. If it does become available in China again, you would have to visit the local PSB of where you were staying and apply for an extension there. In order to do this, you must have registered with the PSB within 48 hours of your arrival into the town. (If you have a lcoation where you will consistantly staying.

You can only get one extension while in China for up to 30 days.
