How to get a CRB check for an international student in the UK?

I had to conduct a research project with school children as a part of my undergraduate course, which requires me to get a CRB check done. However I have been in the UK for less than 5 years, have lived in the U.A.E. before that, but hold Indian nationality. How do I go about getting a CRB disclosure?

Call the CRB on 0870 90 90 844, and choose option 1 to get through to the correct department
Give them your name, address, age and details of the type of work you are going to be doing
Give the organisation name "SCAN"
Give the 11 digit registered body number is (pop into the office or call us to get this number!)
Say that you require the full-enhanced check
They will send you the application form and notes on how to fill it in, in the post
You then return you completed form to the scan office
it is possible to apply for a CRB check as an international student, the process may take longer. The check can only include background checks on your time in the UK as liaising with some countries is not possible at present. It is therefore completely at the discretion of the volunteering opportunity provider whether they wish to accept this CRB check. This may exclude international students from certain activities. i have applied for the role of support worker and i have been successfull in interview and even my company have send all the processing details to check the crb and it has been almost 4 weeks for the process in crb but i havent got any reply and no any answer about the crb and i live in kent (uk) and i am dependent and has come from nepal with my wife where she is a student in warnborough college(canterbury) i am from nepal and i just wanna know how much time do i have to wait for the crb and does my crb goes to nepal for the further information and if it goes for the check in nepal then can u tell me the branch that my crb details will be send to and how much time do i have to wait more for my crb i hope that u will provide me with the full information i have mentioned with thak you |
