Despite what the others are say, you DO become a British citizen upon birth in the UK, if your parents are "legally settled" in the Uk, at time of your birth. That most often means that your parents have "indefinite leave to remain" in the UK. The status of soldiers in the armed forces may be different from those of civilians when it comes to permanent residency, so it'll be best to inquire with the Home Office on the specifics of what qualifies as "legally settled" in these cases.
