I think so, because the UK isn't a Schengen Zone country so your visa only allows travel within the UK (Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands under the Common Travel Agreement) - a Schengen Visa will allow travel in all those Schengen countries (excluding the autonomous state of the holy mountain in Greece which requires a separate visa).

You should check that your ILR doesn't have any restrictions on leaving the UK.
