If you have a British-born or an Irish-born grandparent then you are entitled (in the first case) to a visa to come and live in the UK and after 5 years to apply for naturalisation; and in the second case for Irish citizenship which gives you the right to live and work in Britain (and throughout the EU/EEA/Switzerland as well).
Otherwise you could apply for a working holiday in Britain; or if you have appropriate skills or wealth, for a migration visa. |

visit http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ and apply. It will tell you the form to fill out based on questions you answer. That's where I applied, I moved from USA now I live in UK. ^_^ It's very simple, and you should expect to hear from someone within 2 weeks of submitting your application.
