I am an indian citizen 17 years old i want to renew my passport now will it be renewed for an year ???

or will it be renewed for 10 years or are there some other rules ???please tell me

SOoooooooooooooooo, you are 17..
if you are above 16 the passport renewal can be done for 10 years. there are schemes which renew your passport for a limited period only, thats too complicated, just accept 10 years of renewal man.. the thing is tooooooo simple there.
if you were below 16, it would have renewed for 5 years only. it may take a month or two to complete the renewal process

yes it will be only 10 years vaild passport only.
you have to apply new passport.

Hy there! In general cases Indian passports are renewed for ten years for adults but my friend as per your case (being of sweet seventeen) you might 've to request for it to:( if you're in india U may have to approach the Director of Immigration & Passports at the nearest passport issueing Authority covering your area and by chance ir you are abroad then U have to approach the cousul general at the nearest Indian Embassy/Mission or High- Commission in the country you're in, normally they do it on request for the cases like yours; so my friend please be relaxed and go ahead, I hope your work will be done,Bless you.
