All the above answers are wrong in different way because there are soldiers in the military that I knew from countries like Germany, China, Iran, England, India, Canada, Israel, Jamaica, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and many more just to name a few. You can't enter as an Officer...( Secret Clearance needed) but you can as a "Jundi"...lol, if you have a Permanent Resident Card(Green card) and a Social Security Card/Number (SSN) you can get a job as a Computer Engineer / IT Management/ Computer Administrator (S6....military term), in the Army on active duty, you will not build a computer from scratch but you will get to repair all the broken Dell computers the Army has to offer. You should also consider a secondary MOS...which means job as an Arabic Linguist or just take the language test because you will get paid for it $100 extra every month. You don't need a Security Clearance for that job unless you want to do more that 8 years in the Armed Forces however after three years you can apply for citizenship and they will grant it. Then you will get a Security Clearance....after you have your Certificate of Naturalization or your U.S. Passport and you have completed all the paper work within about two years. Before you join research all jobs carefully because there are cash bonuses and college funds for certain jobs.

This seems like a facetious post, but I'll answer anyways. You may not be able to join the US army as a computer engineer, but you can join the US Army IRR (Individual Ready Reserve) as an Arabic Linguist and get your US citizenship as a bonus.

If you are in this country with a permanent residency card, than you can see an Army Recruiter for the details of what you need to do to enlist. You will probably have few opportunities since getting a security clearance will be difficult. It would be of better use of your training in computers to get a civilian position in that field. If you are not in this country and have no legal staus then forget it and find something else to waste your time on.

lawl, I find this so hard to believe, but you can probably be an Iranian translator which would pay u much better and is an easier job too!

You would have to be a legal american citizen and you would have to relinquish your Iranian passport since foreigners who served in the American military had to surrender their passports from other places which is per the regulations. They do have jobs for civillians, but again you have to be a legal citizen to work or serve in the Army. Once you've done that you can apply to serve or work for the military.
