that it would take only 60 days to process. Now they say 4 to 6 months. Do any of you have any expeience as to how long it will actually take to receive my first check.

Interesting question, I live in Tepic and will be applying for ss in the next month or so.
My wife, who is 2 years older then me, actually went to visit relatives in Seattle, and applied there, got it in 1 month.
Due to the security issues going on right now it's a good idea to check any ss issues, major frauds in that area , and I appreciate the problem they have. Of course it inconveniences people like us, but it's a great excuse to visit my kids up north.
