Are you talking about residency (indefinite leave to remain?) If this is the case, yes you can do it from the UK but treble check your paperwork otherwise they will only extend it for 1 year and charge you the full amount.

We slipped up the first time, but the second time after the extension we got it right.........it isn't hard providing everything is in order.
