I have a problem with F-1 Visa help me!?

Hi, I'm an international student in N.Y
I accidetally dropped 1 class so I took 11 credits which they said I violated the law(counsellor said 12 is minimum credits).
So I have to go out of U.S and come back again.
They said they wlll give me another new i-20.
I wonder if I have to go to Embassy in my country again with new i-20 to have a interview. or Just come back to U.S with new i-20 and my previous F-1 visa. I should've asked counsellor about it, but today is saturday.
I'll appreciate if you can answer me.

You are on record as a SEVIS violator - you are out of status and must leave the US. You should re-apply for a new F1 visa with a new I-20. When (if) the new visa is issued, it will demonstrate that you have overcome the violation and you get a chance to start over again (there is no guarantee that you will be issued a new visa. However, if you do get it, add up the financial cost of your "accident" of dropping 1 credit - cost of trip home; cost of new I-20; cost of new SEVIS fee; cost of new visa; and any late fees associated with the university - an expensive lesson in following the rules).
NOTE: It is your responsibility to understand the requirement of your visa and the consequences of your actions at school. It is to your advantage to have a close working relationship with your DSO (Designated School Official) in order to avoid similar problems in the future. |
