I advise you to keep in close contact with your fiancee about the status. If your fiancee hasn't received any news then be sure to keep in close contact with the embassy. Call them every week. They are unlikely to give you any information about your case over the phone but the importance for calling is to let them know that you are eager to hear from them as well as it may push them a bit to check on the case. I applied for my husband's I-130 from his country and lived there with him until he was approved and I have to tell you that the embassy is really bad about not giving a $hit about applicants. I was well into my 7th month of pregnancy with our daughter whenever I took matters into my own hands and went to the embassy in person and demanded information about our case. If we had not made that very difficult journey then things could have taken even more time possibly months. So I advise you to go for it and push the matter by yourself. They don't make appointments unless they are doing first/final interviews. Go there in person and let them know that it is urgent. In the meantime before going, send them a faxed letter each day informing them that you are requesting information about the status of the case. This way you can keep those copies of the letters as a proof that you have received no response. Don't give up! Once the case has been approved then they will send a final packet of forms to be filled and once you have completed and mailed back those forms, then they will contact you for a final interview day at which time the visa will be granted. However if in your case you are separated then your fiancee will have to receive his visa from his location usually by express mail services. Your fiancee should have his identification and receipt of his visa application handy whenever he receives his passport (with his new visa). It's all quite exciting but its a rather slow process and it depends mostly on how long it takes for the paperwork to be completed and for the final interview to take place. best of luck to you but remember, don't take the backseat in this situation. Be assertive with the embassy otherwise it will waste more time. It took two years for my husband to be granted an immigrant visa and I was even there with him and we had all of our paperwork in perfect order as well as we had the financial requirements met. It just takes a lot of time. |

After you have received your approval from the USCIS they will forward all your paperwork to the Embassy in Manilla. The Embassy will then send a letter to the address you have setup to receive all your paperwork at. This could take up to 2 or 3 months after you received the USCIS approval.
You can also check the Manila Embassy website every month and look up your case number to see when they give you an appointment. Here is the link to were you can look up appointments. Go down the page and click on the "Click here and check for your case number".

They should already have all your information and they should be sending all your information to the embassy in your country. They will contact you either by email, mail, or phone. Speak with your fiance and find out the date of the approval notice. Should not be long before they contact you. !!!!
Good Luck !!! |
