I lied in my H1 visa interview & wrote unmarried in form for H1b while I was married on that day- pl help?
|
During my H1 interview, I expressed myself 'unmarried'. Actually, I was married three days before. I done this to ease H1 visa.
After getting my H1 visa approved, I managed to get another marriage certificate of post interview date.
My question is: If someone inform embassy about my intentional mistake, can they cancel my visa? Will there be any effect on my green card?
Can I myself admit the error and represent the embassy to avoid future problems?
Please guide me as my wife with whom my divorce is pending may complain to USCIS/ Consulate with actual marriage certificate containing my signatures which indicates my marriage prior to my visa interview in which I answered as "unmarried"
Also, during my interview, I was asked specifically few questions about my marriage and I answered I am not married. Does the Consulate keeps any record of my verbal answers?
Please guide me. I feel I m going to face serious problems in future.

How many more times will you ask this question? Twice here, and also as "Monsoon05" and as "Answer pleasee"? Do you think the answer will change? And I notice you're stealing from your wife, too - you are pretty good at lying and playing games with the system.
When people write to complain that they can't get a visa to come to the US, or there are long delays in their cases, it is because of people like you who have intentionally lied to get some sort of immigration benefit from the US government.
You lied that you were not married so it would be easier to get an H1b visa, then you bought a fraudulent marriage certificate to support your claim, then you applied for your wife to come to the US and now she is leaving you and you are afraid of your past deeds - good! You are an example of everything that is wrong with our immigration system - the loop holes and technicalities that are exploited by citizens of other countries, who then enter the US and lie again to get other benefits to which they are not entitled, then cheat on their taxes, so that someone else is paying for everything. In this case, I hope for nothing more, or less, than karma. |

"Can I myself admit the error and represent the embassy to avoid future problems?"
There was no error. You lied. If I were you I'd contact an attorney who specializes in immigration matters. You might need one more than you think. |

It appears that you knew exactly what you were doing while committing this fraudulent act.
Now it also appears that you wish to tangle your web of lies even further through our help.
Shame on you for your behavior. Please do the right thing and admit your guilt. If your soon to be ex-wife does it, it will become much, much tougher.
I offer this not to minimize what penalties you may face; I only offer it to plead with you to quit self-destructing and causing havoc by continuing your behavior in this way.
This country welcomes new immigrants, but should not be exploited for this virtue. God be with you. |

Your H visa interview was recorded (either on tape or in writing). And knowing most women, your ex wife will tell on you.
At that point you will lose your H visa and get a permanent bar from coming to the USA - so no green card ever.
An H visa is a nonimmigrant visa. It is temporary. A green card is for someone that is/has immigrated. It is permanent.
Submitting a false date marriage certificate is a felony 18 USC 1000 - 1002 and is punishable for up to 5 years in jail.
Your best chance is to go immediately to the embassy and "clarify" your marital status.
Why would your marriage status have any bearing on your H visa? |
